PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:

            My professional experience includes work as a staff physical therapist, physical therapy director and supervisor, director of a rehab center, regional manager of a contract rehabilitation company; work in community health social work and counseling and as a clinical therapist and supervisor.

PHILOSOPHY OF TREATMENT:

After some years as a physical therapist, I became interested in the mind-body connection as it impacts healing and the physical body.  I returned to school obtaining a Master’s degree in Rehab Counseling and later a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology.  My therapeutic approach involves a holistic orientation in which I team with the client to facilitate the integration of mind, body and spirit.  My training and experience include biofeedback, EMDR and relaxation for stress management, individual and marital therapy, play therapy and work with chronic pain and physical disability. I also specialize in anxiety disorders; body image, transgender issues and geriatrics.
