PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:

Dr. Twinem's experience includes employment as a staff physical therapist, physical therapy director and supervisor, director of a rehabilitation center, regional manager of a contract rehabilitation company; and as a clinical therapist and supervisor.

PHILOSOPHY OF TREATMENT:

After some years as a physical therapist, Dr. Twinem became interested in the mind-body connection as it impacts healing and the physical body.  She returned to school obtaining a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and later a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology.  Her therapeutic orientation involves a holistic approach in which Dr. Twinem teams with the client to facilitate the integration of mind, body, and spirit.  Her training and experience include biofeedback, EMDR and relaxation for stress management, individual and marital therapy, play therapy and work with chronic pain and physical disability. Additionally, she specializes in anxiety disorders, body image, transgender issues, and geriatrics.
